Broken and dangling hackles disappoints you anytime. Don't use such a fragile
fly. I guess everybody has experienced a situation which Elk Hair Caddis
or Woolly Bugger got useless, as its hackle came off, even though other
parts were ok.
We make hackling flies durable. Wire or thread is wrapped over the hackle.
Even if a part of hackle cuts by teeth of fish or something, the over wrapping
minimizes the damage. If the damage is so big as to cut the wire or thread
itself, there is no way but the over wrapping makes a big difference. |

ハックルが外れて、ぶら下がってしまうとがっかりします。そんな構造のフライを使ってはいけません。ウーリーバガーやエルクヘア・カディスのハックルが魚の歯で切れてしまった経験はあると思いますが、他のパーツは元気でもハックルが外れてしまうと、もう使えません。
当工房のハックルはとにかく外れにくいようにしています。巻いた後、その上にワイヤー、またはスレッド（糸）で押さえつけ、一部が切れたとしても最小限のダメージになるような仕様です。スレッドやワイヤ自体が切れてしまったら、これも無理ですが、この補強の有無はフライの寿命の大きな差になります。 |
