Japanese yen has become weaker and weaker since the spring of 2013. In
2012 1 USD was less than 80yen temporarily but as of Jan of 2014, 1 USD
is about 105yen, which means yen became 30% weaker against USD.
This huge currency rate change reflects prices at our store. No matter
how hard we try, we cannot overcome the cost increase without price change.
Price hike is unavoidable just like any other industries. We increased
prices of most products. Please understand the circumstances. Prices of
the products which we seldom stock or sell might be widely different from
the latest precise price. Please contact us for the update.
Japan will have a sales tax increase in April 2014. We are having good
sales this winter but wonder what will happen after the new tax changes
people's lives.

January 2015
JPY kept dropping for the past year. Now 1 USD is about 118 JPY. Many household products such as grocery have got price increase.
The government says exporters made handsome profit but we wonder if economy on the streets became better.
April 2016
1 USD is around 109 JPY lately. Better than 1 year ago. We hope this tendency
keeps up..

2013年春より急速な円安に陥り、仕入価格が高騰しました。2012年には1アメリカドルが80円を切ったこともありましたが、2014年1月現在105円前後となっております。つまり30％程度、円の価値が下がったことになります。1万円で支払えた商品が13000円ないと買えないことになります。これは顕著に販売価格に反映してしまいます。どんなに努力しても30％のコスト増を値上げ無しでカバーすることはできません。
小麦粉や石油価格の高騰によってパンなど食品の価格が変わるように、どの業界で値上げが避けられません。当店でも多くの商品の価格を上げさせていただきました。ご了承ください。仕入れるたびに、最新の価格に書き換えるため、長く仕入れていない商品、仕入れたことのないお取り寄せ専門の商品の価格が大いに違う可能性があります。お問い合わせいただけば、最新の参考価格をお知らせします。
消費税も上がっていくと、景気は本当に上がるのでしょうか？2013年から2014年の冬は平年のこの時期よりも売れ行きが良いように思います。増税で日本全体の消費にブレーキがかからないのか、心配です。
追記
2015年1月
円安は一層進み、食品などの生活用品も続々と値上がりしてきました。酪農、農業の飼料、肥料などもあがり、沢山のものが値上がりしています。
現在１米ドルは118円ほどです。一年前に、悲しんでいたレートから更に続伸し、円高の時から比べ1.5倍ほどドルは高くなりました。
多くの商品で値上げをしましたが、利益は上がりません。全く、困ったものです。輸出企業の業績が街角景気でどのぐらい反映されているのか、疑問です。
2016年4月
現在１米ドルは109円ほどです。少し落ち着いてきて、ドル高が止まってきました。100円ぐらいまで下がってほしいものです。フライラインなども随分高くなりました。
2017年10月
また120円が見えるかもしれない様子になってきました。朝鮮半島の情勢、政治、不安要素が大きいです。
